Galapagos Islands Map location
Lying 970 km (600 miles) west of the Ecuadorian coast, at the Equator line, the Galapagos Islands consist of 6 main islands 12 smaller islands and over 40 small islets. Use the interactive Galapagos map below to click on each island for a description of landing points and typical wildlife found there, or use the following reference table.
Dry landings are made at a dock; wet landings are made on the beach from the small panga speed-boat (i.e. you will get your feet wet); no landing means that you will explore the site from aboard the panga boat.
Galapagos snorkel sites may vary depending on the day-plan of your guide and Galapagos National Park regulations which are subject to change.
The list of Galapagos animals on each island is not intended to be a complete list – we detail only the most common fauna at each site. While every effort has been made to provide accurate and current information in the Galapagos map no specific wildlife sightings can ever be guaranteed, and each description is subject to change.
